Dieting Sucks

How amazing would it be if cookies were healthy? And cake had fat burning ingredients in it. And soda just melted the pounds off as you drank it! But if that were true would we be constantly craving salads, bran-muffins, and water? Sometimes I think the only reason I want to eat everything terrible for me is because I know it’s bad. And if the only walk on the wild side I take is with food than what’s wrong with that?

Well, a lot, if your metabolism is as fast as a snail. I’ve been battling with my weight for about nine years now. My original goal (at eleven) was to lose twenty pounds–I have since gained, well, a lot more that. And I’ve pretty much been on the same cycle since then. Every couple months I plan out my diet, I will eat this many calories, and work out this many minutes each week; but it never happens. And for the life of me I don’t know why. The calculations are right, I know how much weight I will lose if I follow the math, but the pressure always gets to me, and fast. I never really go more than a few days following my plans. I blame it on school, on work, on my iPod being dead, but the truth is I hate the gym! I’ve spent too much time being angry that I have to work hard to lose weight while other girls are naturally thin, but I’ve finally moved past those feelings and am ready to change. So here I am, nearly twenty pounds heavier than the last time I tried this diet thing, ready to start up again. But this time I’m armed with new motivations, and this blog. If what I’m going through right now can help anyone else out there than that’s motivation enough for me. I would also like to invite all of you to join me. This isn’t just a diet, or a weight loss quick fix, it’s about being healthy.

My Motivators:

I want to be able to be more creative with my style.
I want to be in love.
I want to be healthy.
I want to motivate and help others.
I want to be truly happy with myself.

My Changes:

I’m keeping it simple for now; I’m not going to go crazy counting calories, I’m just going to start eating healthier. I’m starting to go to the gym a few times a week and I’m putting more chicken and fish into my diet as well as more fruits and veggies. I love to be creative with my cooking so I’m really excited about creating recipes and sharing them with all of you!

Wish me luck!
